A study of Offshore Water Quality in Pusan Area(¥²)



Abstract
An investigation of offs¢¥bra water quality in Pusan area was carried out from Oct., 1985 to Oct., 1937. Water was sampled fram 13 sites d-sinated by Korean Environmental Pollution Control Agency, a--ii analyz-d by Korean E~uiranm3ntal Paliu:ion Standard Met-hods. In general, the estuaries of thi Suyeon, liver (sampling site 1) and the Naktong River (sampling sites 11, 12 an3 13) ware th-_ most heavily polluted. The ranges of annual variations of water contents at sampling site 1 were as fallows: pH, 6.80-7. 15; DO, 1.58-5.8) ppm; COD, 11.0-35.0 ppm; SS, 22.0-63.15 ppm; Hg, 0.92-1. 15 ppb; Cd, 0.30-0.35 ppb; NJ,-N, 0.033-0. 12) pp:n; PD,-P, 0.0)12-9.0193 ppm; E. coli, 79)0-1809)00 MPN/109 ml. Similarly, sampling site 11 had tha following water contents: pH, 8.2)-8.35; DO, 8.55-8.8) ppm; SS, 23.21-33.19 ppm; Hg, 0.21-9.23 ppb; Cd, 0.48-0.53 ppb; NO3-N, 0.0260-0. 0331 ppm; PJ,-P, 0.0943-9.0)53 ppm ; E. coli, 49)0-43)90 MPN/10) ml. The water contents of sampling site 12 were as follows: p-1, 7.89-8.2); DJ, 8.89-9.08ppm; SS, 31.93-30.93 ppm; Hg, 0.21-0.26 ppb; Cd, 0.43-0.54 ppb; NJ,-N, 0.02)7-0. 0475 ppm; PO,-P, 0.0043-9.0053 ppm; E. coli, 5)))-3))) MPN%1)) ml.
